Klosed now connects to Follow Up Boss
Pull dormant contacts straight from Follow Up Boss, and get every handoff written back as a note and a task on the person. Here is exactly what it reads, what it writes, and what it never touches.
If your database lives in Follow Up Boss, you can now run Klosed on it without exporting a CSV. Connect once, pick the contacts you want worked, and every reply that turns into a real conversation lands back on the person’s record in FUB, where your agents already live.
This post is the full description of what the integration does. It is short on purpose, because the integration is small on purpose.
What it reads
One API key, generated in your FUB account under Admin, API, named whatever you like. You paste it into Klosed settings. Klosed validates it against Follow Up Boss before storing it, and stores it encrypted. Nothing in your browser ever holds the key after you paste it.
From there, Klosed can pull people. You choose which ones on a filter screen: by stage, by tag, and by how long it has been since anyone at your brokerage touched them. Each stage shows its contact count straight from FUB, so you can see the size of a pull before you run it.
For each person pulled, Klosed reads: name, primary mobile number, email, stage, tags, lead source, the assigned agent, when the contact was created, and when it was last active. That is the whole list.
Then the pull goes through the same import every CSV goes through. Do-not-call scrub, reassigned-number check, carrier line-type check, duplicate check against what is already in your account. You see the reachable count and the cost before anything is committed, and you affirm the consent statement the same way you would for any file. A contact anyone at your brokerage touched in the last ninety days is excluded from billing and from outbound, because that contact is not dormant.
What it writes
Two things, and a tag.
When a lead replies and is ready for a person. Klosed writes a note on the FUB person titled “Klosed: [name] replied,” containing the full conversation, oldest first, with timestamps and a label on each message showing whether Klosed sent it or one of your agents did. It also creates a task on that person, titled “Klosed handoff: reply from [name],” due that day, assigned to whoever the person is already assigned to in Follow Up Boss. Not to the key owner. To their agent.
When a lead opts out. Klosed adds a tag, klosed-opt-out, to the person. It adds the tag without touching any other tag on the record. Follow Up Boss’s API will overwrite every tag on a person if you let it; Klosed does not let it. We tested this on a live account by tagging a contact, opting them out, and confirming both original tags survived.
That is all it writes. No stage changes. No field updates. No new people created. No deletes. No tags other than the one above.
What it does not do
It does not poll, and it does not use webhooks. Imports are manual, started by you, from the Klosed leads page. Nothing runs against your FUB account between imports.
It does not sync in two directions. Klosed does not copy changes you make in FUB back into Klosed, and it does not push anything into FUB except the note, the task, and the tag described above.
It does not copy your lead source field as-is. FUB’s source is free text, and Klosed maps it onto a short fixed list (Zillow, Realtor.com, Open House, Past Client, Referral, and a handful of others) so that when a lead asks “how did you get my number,” the answer comes from something true. If the source can’t be mapped, Klosed says so on the import screen, and if that lead asks where their number came from, Klosed tells them their agent will follow up personally and stops texting them until someone does.
It does not write the same handoff twice. If a conversation gets classified more than once, which can happen, the second run sees the first one’s receipt and does nothing. Your agents get one note and one task per handoff, not a pile.
How to connect it
- In Follow Up Boss: Admin, API, Create API Key. Name it Klosed. Copy the key when it appears; FUB only shows it once.
- In Klosed: Settings, Follow Up Boss, paste the key, Connect. You’ll see the account it belongs to and the role of the key’s owner.
- In Klosed: Leads, Import, Follow Up Boss. Pick stages and tags, pull, review the scrub and the cost, affirm, import.
The key’s role matters. A key made by an Owner or Broker sees the whole account. A key made by an Agent sees only that agent’s contacts, and Klosed will tell you so on the settings screen.
Disconnecting
Settings, Follow Up Boss, Disconnect. Klosed stops reading and stops writing. Leads already imported stay in Klosed. Notes, tasks, and tags already written stay in Follow Up Boss.
Pricing
Contacts that fail the scrub, and contacts inside the ninety-day window, are not billed.
